The Lancaster is a self subsidizing model for the creation of affordable homeownership units. 37 market rate condominiums were able to support 18 affordable family residences in this five story, mixed income development. We emulated the Jacobean design of contextual 19th century buildings for historical appropriateness, while ensuring a high level of marketability necessary for success.
Located in a thriving neighborhood in Brighton between two universities, with the MBTA’ s green line directly located in front of the building, the residents enjoy the ability to access downtown for both work and play. The building is host to shared amenities including library and media room, yoga studio and exterior patio. The project is LEED Gold certified.
