Dummer Street

Brookline, MA

The design assignment called to build 32 new affordable apartments on land used for parking and supporting a contiguous housing authority facility. Our challenge was to design the building over a new 42 car parking garage for the overall development.

Mixing single level and townhouse units, Dummer Street was constructed on a fully occupied site. The program included new shared recreational facilities serving the larger BHA Community. By successfully using "air rights" on a very tight budget, new opportunities to create affordable housing resulted.
